Autumn Winter 2017 Key Trends – Colour – Part one

Keeping with Tradition

The overriding theme in the Winter 2017 collections has been tradition, with many designers playing it safe this winter, especially in their choice of colour. This was evident in the number of designers opting for monochromatic colour palettes; Black, Navy or Grey (predominantly) or through the use of traditional autumn winter colour palettes of browns, golds, reds and greens. This reflects a more generally cautious outlook. Better safe than sorry.

Spicy Pink tones

Some designers spiced up there collections with the addition of less traditional hot pink, purple and orange tones in combination with autumnal russets and ochres.

Autumn Lux

The rich lux theme of previous winter seasons was reflected in some collections were an element of grandeur was used to enrich and deepen the autumnal palette.
