TAILORING, MILITARY AND UTILITY were the dominant influences on outerwear on the catwalks and will be the most important trends, in-store for next Autumn-Winter.

  1. DOUBLE BREASTED COATS There were scores of double breasted coats on the catwalks, in a variety of different fabrics, the key ones being Suede, Military felted wool and Leather. The trend is still for long and lean or over-sized, with many, especially those influenced by original military styles, belted at the waist.
  2. FRINGED OUTERWEAR PIECES With strong outdoor, folk and 1970’s trends influencing collections, fringing as a way of making a difference and was a key trim for outerwear.
  3. THE MA-1 BOMBER JACKET was a style we high-lighted  in Spring Summer 2015 and it has returned for autumn-winter. Although military in origin this particular style, in technical nylon, is also a key role in the resurgent 1990’s trend and was seen at Our Legacy, Rag and Bone and Marcelo Burlon of County Milan.
  4. THE 1990’s DOWN JACKET  This simple, street-style, Down Jacket harks back to it’s original fashion roots in the late 1980’s early 1990’s, when it was de-rieguer  if you were ‘clubbing’ back then. Not technical or sporty it has a flatter appearance, as if it’s seen one too many all-nighters and been slept in a few times.
  5. BUTTON THROUGH BLOUSON Usually seen in spring summer this workwear style, style loosely based on a denim jacket, has been translated into many different fabrics for AW15-16, wool, leather and gaberdine, as well as the it’s origianl denim and will be a key component in the ongoing trend for layering one large outerwear piece over another smaller one.
  6. THE SINGLE BREASTED OVERCOAT As well as Double Breasted Coats the single Breasted, tailored overcoat will also be a key piece of outerwear for men next autumn winter, with Camel being the key colour.

FABRIC – Suede, felted wools, technical nylon and Fur were the key fabrications.

COLOUR – Camel, Grey, Black, Navy and Olive and Bright Red were Key colours.
