The Industrialist – Trend Forecast – Winter 2015-16

In our trend forecast Brave New Silhouette we highlighted a direction in Menswear with it’s sights set firmly on the future.

In the first of our predictions for Autumn-Winter 2015-16, we elaborate on that theme with the The Industrialist, a modern, sartorially inspired direction for menswear.Industrialist-architecture

More Brave New World, than  Brave New Silhouette, The Industrialist is inspired by the industrial landscapes, geometric patterns and Futuristic Metropolises generated by visionary Engineers and Architects.

Colours are inspired by construction materials such as Concrete, Metal, Glass and Wood. Prints graphics and fabric structures by the geometric patterns deliberately created as architectural decoration, through the repetition of shape and colour, in for example, tile-work. And Yarn and Surface endeavour to imitate through special finishes, the lustre and shine generated by polished industrial surfaces.

Styling is frugal and clean with an upbeat modern attitude. The elements of real interest is generated by the pattern and texture contrasts created in the use of different materials, print, and surface interest.
